Lume is beautiful, but we have decided to stick with the tritium tubes. Lume needs a bigger area to really shine brightly. With the fine detail required in a 24-hour dial the brightness of tritium tubes are much crisper. Not to mention that tubes have twice the lifespan.
Also, it is impossible to print numbers on top of lume and make it all look good. The power of beauty.
I did learn from our Swiss/HK manufacturers and watch biz insiders that France will not check singular watch shipments for tritium tubes. Rings true. We have already shipped a number of them to France and no problems.
For bulk shipments France will actually allow a 25T rating. If that order manifests we can easily assemble a bunch of watches that will pass.
For readability however, 100T is far superior, so that is what we are sticking with. Tritium is beautiful too.
On the inner 24-hour dial we added an equinox day/night indication. The static display will bring an added dimension to the reading of the daily and seasonal times for the sun and moon.
Like they say, the devil is in the detail. Cheers! #lume #tritium #24hour #equinox #france #sunandmoon #time #timeandspace #watchdesign #horology #swissmade #worldwatch #worldtime #wristwatch #abtw #hodinkee #wushu #watchforum
