Behold the RX-A3080, Yamaha's new high-end AV receiver. It’s MusicCast multiroom enabled, works with Amazon Alexa and has seven HDMI inputs with three HDMI outs It’s a nine channel Dolby Atmos design (5.2.4), but surprisingly doesn’t offer 11 channel processing for those that want to add another stereo amp. Still, you get XLR inputs if that turns you on. It also boasts something called Surround AI, which appears to be an auto select for Cinema DSP sound modes based on content. I’m not sure that’s a good idea. On the plus side, the receiver will have a new GUI, which is long overdue.
The RX-A3080 will sell for £2,200 when it arrives in August.
