Between the two of them, there is nearly a century of professional years of flying. My dad retired from United Airlines two years ago as a captain on the 777, but his favorite years were spent as 747-400 captain. He spent his time off instructing my brother and me in our family 172, all just to help us set our careers and futures up for success. My mom just retired last week, but in the beginning she took ten years out of her career to stay home and raise us, sacrificing valuable time at the airlines to make sure we had a mommy at home to take care of us. She went back to work and became a 777 captain, then check airman, then two more huge promotions in the training department. Still, all while being incredible parents, they managed to climb to the absolute top rungs of the ladder of their airlines and became the best role models for their children. They are both leaders, pillars of the airline industry, and it's no mystery why they had such success. Passion, drive, love for what you do, and leadership all came together to create the careers that my Mom and Dad had. Thank you for everything, Zander and I will never be able to express our gratitude for what you did for us. Happy Retirement and congratulations on an immensely successful career.
