He’s been my shadow this weekend. Perhaps he knew Edinburgh is very special for me. My dad’s family are Scottish and, a lesser well known fact is that I played for the Scottish netball team when I was, ahem, 19. Edinburgh was my first choice for uni, which I didn’t get, but as they say, everything happens for a reason. And this weekend was Stanley’s first trip to Scotland. It was also his first trip in a prop plane! We covered most of the beautiful city and visited as many museums, galleries, eateries and coffee shops we could cram into a long weekend. We even made time to squeeze in seeing friends. It felt like my grandparents were looking down and looking out for us when we woke up to a dusting of snow this morning. It really did round off what can only be described as a magical trip.
This view is from the balcony at @mercurehotels Edinburgh where we stayed. We definitely made some memories that will last a lifetime #8citiesin8months #80stays #staylocal @staylocaluk
