Squat has been feeling amazing lately which is crazy because Iโ€™ve been focusing on bench and conventional deadโ€™s ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค” 315 for a few doubles, 265 for a couple sets of 8. Bench 225 for some triples and some accessories nobody cares to see. Taking a different approach to training for Battle on the Border. ****Lifting Update****
A few months ago, in October, I had a minor tear in my hamstring from sprinting at a fun Ravens Military Combine event. The MRI at the time was of the knee and showed nothing. After a month I felt good enough for light lifting. Light being 225 lbs which went well on squat day. The next day I was on my 3rd set of deadlifts at 225 lbs when I felt another pop. That was the biceps femoris muscle tearing from my tendon (re-injury) but it didn't feel that bad at the time.
2 months and another MRI later I'll start physical therapy. The Ortho said I'm probably 2-3 months from lifting with weights again.
What that means for powerlifting is that I'm probably not going to compete this year although I was hoping to go to Nationals in Chicago. The positive during this time has been the increase in my bench press and finally crossing the 400 lbs barrier. I enjoy lifting too much to give up. I still have time to grow.

Day 11: didnโ€™t get much sleep, was driving for 7 hours, ate like shit, craved McDonaldโ€™s all day, but still got it in. Every workout doesnโ€™t have to be โ€œkillerโ€ or max intensity and Iโ€™m learning that with age and the people around me. โ€ข

Normal hypertrophy day. Did a few sets of 8 with 465 on squats. I rushed these cuz high reps annoy me and depth was definitely iffy on a few of them. Regardless, these felt like air. . Supposed to hit a 4x4 today. First set is 335 for 3, then 325, for 3. Fail. .
