Recently I was talking to my husband about an experience I had with someone. I was trying to compare this person to someone I used to know, someone who I grew to not like very much. I said to him... "They have that same energy as so-and-so. That same energy l can't stand. The same energy that was the downfall of our friendship"
And then my husband says... "You mean YOUR energy? You mean you don't like the part of them that is just like you?" ♀️ Whoa. Whoa. Whoa.
First I'm like, EXCUSE ME?! WHATCHU TRYING TO SAY?!
Then I'm like, welllllll maybe I'm like that sometimes. But not all the time. That is NOT one of MY issues.
And then I'm like OH MY GOD. YOU ARE SO RIGHT. I DO THAT ALL. THE. TIME .
Once I took a moment to be completely REAL with myself and not hide behind my ego's veils, it was clear as day that I have the exact same issue i was trying to complain about other people having.
You ever notice you attract the same type of people in your life? Like you keep having the same types of problems over and over? Me too. Everybody does. Whyyyyy?
Because every interaction is a divine appointment to see yourself in the mirror.
What does that mean?
All those things about yourself you don't like, all those parts you hide from yourself, all those shadows, you see their reflection in other people.
What bothers you about other people is actually something that exists within you.
The Universe is bringing you people with your same shadows so that the mirror you create, will shed light on your darkness and allow you to become aware of it.
If you want to stop attracting people with the same perceived negative qualities, you must overcome those qualities in yourself.
The Universe is always giving you feedback. But the feedback isn't always rainbows, sparkles, and awesomeness. It's also those difficult people, places, and circumstances you find yourself in.
All those things that bother you about others, THAT'S your Shadow. Have you become more acquainted with that side of your soul yet?
