"Sedona Dreams" -- this mixed media style is one I developed myself, and it is near and dear to my heart. I used to think that I didn't like abstract art. The more realistic the better, I used to say. I don't think that way anymore. Although realism is amazing, and I continue to paint more realistic art, as well, I have learned there is more to art than technical skill at copying an object or landscape.
Art should make you FEEL something. Harken to a memory. Make you think. Stir up an emotion. Take you somewhere.
This "Patina style" I developed brings me back to my trip to Sedona, AZ and the colorful, coppery raku pottery I found there. It also reminds me of a piece of copper or old wall that has been weathered by time and the elements. Colors, textures, metallics combined. I love using Crackle Paste by @goldenpaints to make that amazing texture.
If you scroll though my feed, you can see this style translates well to other colors, too. (Can you find the blue and green versions of this style? 💙💚 Give them a heart if you do, so I know you found them!)
If this style speaks to you, I am available for commissions in any size canvas and color combo! 🎨
