Getting to the white party on the last night of conference is a huge deal in this business. Tonight has literally made me cry! Tears of laughter (good old belly laughs), tears of realisations, tears of joy, tears of pride. I am so grateful I get to share this incredible journey with so many inspirational people from all over the world. I’m definitely leaving Vegas with an overflowing cup. I often get messages asking me “what’s the deal with Yoga and sobriety, why does everyone seem to get so into it?”
I can’t answer for them but I can answer for me ...
Yoga has taught me to be patient, to be kind to myself and to be consistent.
In Yoga, if you (I) keep showing up I progress. My asana practice becomes stronger, postures click into place and my mind becomes more still.
The yoga mat is my safe space where I can show up and work through whatever funk I am in.
Yoga in its many guises has allowed me to deepen the closeness to myself, that closeness began when I made the decision to remove alcohol from my life.
My form is far from perfect here, but in January when I fell over I lost a lot of mobility in my wrist and couldn’t put any weight on it. I rested it, I’ve worked on building the strength up in the joints and in the muscles and I’m finally able to begin to use it to it’s full capacity again and it feels GREAT.

When you plan on indulging in a cheat meal. This is how it's done .
Yesterday's starter, then main (swipe right) then ice cream trifle afterwards (no pic)
When you know your going to that friends house who really knows how to overfeed you with happiness
Yesterday this was my first plate at my planned cheat meal
All week I was training and eating really slowly and to the point of satisfaction not fullness
I knew I had a BBQ to go to Saturday so I got up Saturday morning went the gym smash my second leg session of the week and then had this to look forward to
I did this because after training you basically burn of loads of stored energy and especially legs as they are such a big muscle group the extra calories afterwards will get used up and increase my recovery and growth
The cheat was that I didn't really care about how slowly I ate and how much food I ate even carbs (as my body doesn't handle carbs well) or how much I ate in this one sitting .
No problem doing this once a week. If anything it's beneficial for my metabolism as it should now give me a nice boost of energy
Plus it's always good to enjoy your food as an important social part of our lives.
Feel so accomplished today! I got in a good 2 mile run, worked on my FASTER scale and Pure Desire homework, edited and uploaded a new video, started getting quotes for the #beyoubelove 5k race medals, and created the registration form on my website. (And then a few other normal Saturday things)

When I pick my boys up from school they will on occasion share stories of how someone left them out at playtime or how someone was unkind to them and they’ll explain that this left them feeling sad and unhappy
Dealing with playground antics can be difficult at 6 years old and I’m trying to educate our boys about kindness and friendships so they know what to look out for
But, these school playground antics sometimes spill over into adulthood and even grown ups can go out of their way to make someone feel excluded or left out. Some adults can be unkind, some find pleasure in talking about others behind their backs and putting others down. But, the worst culprits are those who try to influence how others see them, they’ll share stories about others and spread this unkindness and this can leave individuals feeling isolated, withdrawn and excluded.
I’ve never understood why people take pleasure in acting in this way, as women it’s so important to build one another up and celebrate one another’s successes without jealously or resentment.
The phrase, ‘each to their own,’ goes a long way and that’s what I want to teach my boys.
Be individual, stand out and follow your dreams without worrying that you’ll be judged or ridiculed for the choices you make
