Where do you get motivation?
Are you internally or externally motivated?
I'm super internally driven. You can show me videos of other people's amazing feats or motivational quotes all day long, but if I really want to break down barriers, I have to look within.
That could mean looking at progress photos (especially seeing how far I've come!), reminding myself why I need to put in the work (what are my end goals?), or just seeing results (whether it's a new PR or more muscular definition). It's not just in the gym - when I'm working it's always to improve upon what I've done before.
This isn't an excuse to pick yourself apart if you've fallen off the wagon or slacking. But there's nothing wrong with aiming to be better than you were yesterday.
As they say, the only time you should ever look back is to see how far you've come.
