What’s your thoughts Mamas? It’s portrayed as the devil. I toy between wanting to ban it altogether and being chilled and allowing “some” into our life. How much is too much? How can you get the balance right when food companies aren’t totally honest and transparent about those hidden granules?
The dreaded Haribo in party bags and school birthdays....despite the school banning it. But who wants an apple as a birthday treat! Raff, thankfully, doesn’t like it. Although having it pushed on him so often is making him want to like it. He asks for gummys if I say he’s allowed a treat, we have the same argument of me saying he doesn’t like them and him saying he does....occasionally I give in silently thinking I’m winning here knowing he will take one bite and then hand the rest to me saying “mummy you finish them.” I really don’t want to be a kill joy, there are parts of this modern world that I feel have robbed our children of the childhood we had - social media being one, but others like tree climbing, playing conkers, throwing snowballs, technology and the continuous over stimulation of the lives we live. As parents we are told so much, no actually I think we are shouted at from all corners - too much sugar, more fruit, drink water, eat vegetables, be vegan, don’t be vegan, balance is good but not too much balance, more sleep, less sleep, more outdoor play, pollution will kill you don’t go outside, strangers will take your children, gaaaaaaah 🙅🏼♀️ enough! My brain hurts.
What’s your limit? What’s your thoughts I’d love to hear what you think? Is sugar the devil in disguise?
