This is my neighborhood. A peaceful rural spot, purposefully away from town, where I can run for miles with Kobe. Where Craig and I can hike and bike for hours with the boys. Every single day, I look across the valley at Brown’s Canyon National Monument with gratitude, and I wonder how this place could get any better. And you know what? Not one time have I thought this place would be enhanced if we built hundreds of homes in that valley and added nearly 20 acres of commercial development.
Let’s keep the rural areas rural and install the inevitable growth mindfully around existing development. We are lucky to have one County Commissioner, Keith Baker, who spoke up at the last meeting on behalf of our land use code. I hope that our other commissioners will consider listening to their constituents.
Who will stand up to protect the magic we have here in Chaffee County? Join me this Thursday 21 Feb, 5PM at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds (Poncha Springs) but first, and right now, email your concerns to the following: Commissioner Rusty Granzella email@example.com
