Two years ago today at about this time, I opened the door to our camp office (aka "the cafe") to find my boyfriend standing there with a ring in his hand.
We owe our entire friendship to that room. He did video, I did photo. I had the BIGGEST crush on him since I was 14, never thought I stood a chance. I knew there was no way I could pursue him, but still I clung to the 1% chance that maybe... something... one day... could happen down the road. I didn't even tell my closest friends that I liked him... I couldn't risk anything going wrong.
Somehow, when I was 19, I found enough courage to start pursuing him very slowly. And a few months later, I was as surprised as could be to hear the 1% come out of his mouth. "I like you."
Gosh, I can still feel the butterflies. It took 3 dates before I could eat in his presence, my stomach was in knots quite regularly. I just never thought that 1% would even come close to happening.
For me, those first few months were the most exciting thing that has ever happened. Ever. So it just made sense that more than 2 years later, we would be anxious to officially do life together... and then came the ring. Happy anniversary, Caleb.
