I can’t undersell the importance of community, taking time to actively care for others and letting others support and care for you!
It’s difficult because vulnerability isn’t easy no matter who you are, and being transparent about our lives certainly isn’t. Especially when your talking points are about poop, bags, leakage, surgeries, suppositories, mental health, divorce, drugs, debt; invisible illnesses, fatigue, nausea, or whatever you may face!
I’m so grateful for my community. I wish I could personally thank daily everyone who’s ever listened, helped, empathized, cried or allowed me to vent about IBD or just about life!
Show up, listen up, talk up, walk, text, drive, if you see a need, see what can be done about it. Seeing the ways others have been able to do things for me has really pushed me to be there for others. The world doesn’t change over night but when we all care things do change in people’s personal worlds. 🌍 ❤️ 💪
