“Friends forever” is a phrase tossed around a lot. I changed schools 17 times from kindergarten to my senior year so I probably have told 1.2 million people they were my “friends forever.” These photos are it in action. photo one: thanksgiving 1989, my mom and @tabby_g_jack (this was the only photo I had at home of them together!) and photo two: a couple of weekends ago when Tabby went to see my mom at her care home in Albuquerque, NM. It is often hard for loved ones of dementia patients to see them in a state like this, and many times people - even family members, will refuse to visit their mom, their dad, their aunt, their friend, etc...that this disease affects. But it’s SO important. Because while the mom I knew is not there most of the time, *she* is still here. And she still needs to know she is loved. Thank you for going to see her Aunt Tabby. It means so much.
