Responding to @amplifiedhistory and their call to see the diversity of cultures amongst their fans and brethren across our little planet, may I humbly present my favorite place on the walls of my personal space.
Being a 3rd generation Scottish American, my grandfather being the first member of our family born here, we still feel very connected to our heritage. The antlers were from a kill by my great-great-grandfather in the 19th century, in Scotland. The stones are from @gaelsongcatalog, and read "Failte" and "Slainte" (Welcome and Life respectively, in Gaelic). Both are carved into stones from a quarry in Ireland, and are centuries old.
On the more modern end, we have a plaque with our clan crest, representing the House of Gordon, with our surname engraved underneath. The Aitkens have been a sept of the Gordon since their coming to Scotland in the 11th century. My collection of coins from the Society of William Wallace, depicting heroes throughout Scotland's history. And finally my collection of my favorite Scotch bottles, all of which sampled by myself (tasty). The bottle to the left of the coins I inherited from my grandfather, is still unopened and is almost 50 years old! I'm saving that wee gem for when my wee lassie bairn achieves her first major goal as an adult, whatever her personal goals may end up being : )
