Excited to be playing once again at @aliveonechicago with @lowsparkband filling in on drums for @collindrums where not so long ago I was cutting my teeth as younger musician. MANY MANY terrific memories at this soulful establishment!
Excited about my upcoming show with my band at WDCB's Jazz Night @jazz_showcase next week on Tuesday, October 9th. We will be playing two sets: 8pm and 10pm. FREE ADMISSION! We will be performing some original compositions of mine from my newly released debut album “Just Practice”, as well as an exciting assortment of traditional, Latin, and funk flavored jazz standards. A big thanks to @909wdcb for all their support and for everything they do to keep jazz thriving in Chicago. Check out their website, calendar and WDCB jazz night events! I will also be selling copies of my new release, which features all original compositions. Hope to see you there!! The amazing musicians joining me are:

70’s stock variegated red leaf with gray/white outlines for our front window @electro_pepper gallery. The leaf is from Rayco Sign Supply, that we bought from them when they were closing. Since it’s vintage leaf, we felt it would be appropriate for our funky logo.
Finally found a clean original of this killer dance tune from Chicago's Toddlin' Town label. Alvin Cash's funkiest offering by far, although I have DJed "Twine Time" which is another banger of his. Alvin Cash had gone solo by the time this record dropped in 1969 but was still with The Crawlers when "Twine Time" (heavily favored on the Northern Soul scene for many decades) came out. Good records don't have to be expensive; this 45 is always ready to light up a funk party or set.
