Awwww, what a cute photo! Once you see past the cute deer in front, you'll see cookies. These are Dutch Speculaas.
Though popular at Christmas, these Dutch spiced biscuits are traditionally baked for Het Sint Nicolaasfeest (December 6th), which marks the start of the festive season. The dough is traditionally shaped using hand-carved wooden moulds before baking, but can be substituted for plain rounds.
This was one of the recipes I shared in my AROUND THE WORLD IN 31 DAYS recipe round up in the DOMESTIC GODDESSES IN TRAINING Facebook Group.
If you want to read more about how you can incorporate cuisine from the Netherlands into your weekly menu plan, click on the link in my bio and join the group.
I wonder where we'll finish up today?
