#WhyIBecame an Instagram community builder - by @benpotter.mct
When I was 15, I started an Instagram page called 'codingpics', where I would share programming jokes, and also share occasional developer resources. I wasn't expecting much to happen from it, but it slowly gained traction as I continued to engage with other accounts. Before I knew it, it had 10,000 followers & I had realized that I could turn it into something more.
Three years later, I have been able to connect with so many amazing people while also featuring their unique stories on @coding (previously codingpics). It feels great to share a tutorial or contest and know that it will help people! It has also given me the opportunity to do consulting work for two tech companies, where I build up their Instagram profiles. The connections you can make through Instagram are absolutely incredible!
While I started by simply re-posting memes, I accidentally stumbled on an entire community and discovered the power of helping others! That is #WhyIBecame an Instagram community builder: it's incredibly motivating!
