My heart is extremely humbled and if I'm being completely honest, emotional, today. I was featured on the Downey Patriot's "40 Under 40" and as cheesy as it sounds, I choked up as soon as I saw it because the first person I thought about was my Nina Angela.
It's crazy to think about all of the moments that make up our journey.... and the truth is, I wouldn't work or live in Downey had it not been for her. ✨
Within a week of exiting the company I'd helped build over 3 years ago, she got really sick, and because I suddenly had nothing but time on my hands, I got the chance to spend more of it with her. I saw the Keller Williams office at which I'm now Team Leader after her doctor's appointment one day because we'd stopped down the street at Mimi's Cafe. I interviewed a couple of months later and started as an agent.
I've always believed that what doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger. Had she not been sick, had I not left the company I helped build, had my dad not signed me up for real estate classes, and had the million little things that didn't kill me not happened, I would never have interviewed here. I wouldn't live in Downey. I wouldn't have truly figured out my passion. And I wouldn't have had the incredible opportunity to be in the role I am now, working with countless amazing agents and colleagues every day.
I get to see their resilience and their growth. I get to see the impact they have on their clients, our community and each other. And I get to be a part of that and I get to live the mission she inspired in me every day.
It's an amazing honor. And it's an honor to have been featured among some amazing individuals in Downey. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
