HUMANS OF EUROPE "It was last winter when I started wanting to do something different, something far away from my everyday routine. So after searching I found a very interesting Erasmus+ project. It was an EVS project in Poland and its duration was 2 months, so without a lot of thinking, I applied.
They accepted me and finally here I was, in the small Leszno, in the middle of the winter. When I arrived at the train station, there were the other volunteers, who had arrived earlier. It was this moment when I met Nicolas, a french volunteer who came there, as me, to live something different. And the journey started...! We were all day together, working together, partying ,even travelling together. And without even noticing we were in each other's everyday lives. We were far away from our homes, living with people from all over Europe, experiencing new things every moment. For me it was a brand new thing, nothing to do with previous relationships. All these made these two months - I could say - the best of my life! And Nicolas made everything even more amazing. The two months passed and it was time to go back home, so I came back to Greece, and Nicolas went to France. I knew that usually these type of 'Erasmus couples' split after the end of the project. But with us it was different. Not only we kept meeting the whole time, but at the end of the summer I finally moved to France. We are now living together and I am finally living in a new country, speaking a new language and having a whole new life. These two months in the small cold Leszno have definitely changed our lives.
I would totally suggest to all the young people to participate in Erasmus+ projects. The experiences and the memories are one of a kind. Get out of the ordinary and the comfort zone, travel, meet the world around you.
I did it and it was the best choice ever. " -Nikoleta and Nicolas
