Glossier, the fast-growing millennial makeup company, will surpass USD100 million in revenue this year, according to chief executive officer Emily Weiss, and this rapid expansion has the company setting its sights high. Glossier’s serums and lip balms, complete with Instagram-friendly packaging, have allowed the New York-based company to carve out a sizable slice of a global beauty market that’s estimated at USD 532 billion. It’s one of the rare beauty companies that does almost all of its business online, and what began as a blog in 2010 has become a force in beauty e-commerce, with more than $86 million in venture capital funding raised to date. It does not sell its products at department stores or specialty shops such as Sephora and Ulta Beauty Inc.
During Black Friday weekend, Glossier sold one of its most popular products, “Boy Brow” eyebrow shapers, every four seconds. Total sales over the annual shopping holiday doubled compared to the year prior, the company said. Next year, it will focus on growth in countries it recently entered, including the U.K., France and Canada.

Weiss declined to address media reports this year that Glossier could be preparing for a public offering.

Glossier showroom, NY. They opened up their revamped (and huge) showroom pretty much straight after we left the city, and now all I want to do is go back and see the new store. Thanks to all of you who sent the podcast to me with lovely messages. I listened to it as it got released. My girl crush levels on Emily are verging on obsessive. Jks, kind of🥴

So I went to the first offline shop of online beauty brand @glossier and that was an interesting experience. Everything was pink (ofcourse). From the walls, the floor, the products. There were girls and women fanatically testing the creams, balms and makeup. And so did I. Even bought a little something and received my purchase in a pink bubbleplastic ziplock bag. That bag was put in a large plastic bag with goodies a stickers and samples. I loved it. Felt as if I was 16 all over. Marketing is everything. .

I went to the @glossier store in Los Angeles and it’s extraordinary. The pink walls, pink packaging, and pink interior furniture is absolutely beautiful. Being inside and surrounded by all the beauty gave me such a satisfaction and relaxation. I wish I had a @glossier in my backyard. 💖
