The Rohingya people have been described as one of the world's most persecuted minorities.
They are victims of violent gang rapes, merciless tortures, beheadings, and even babies tossed into fires.
More than 500,000 Rohingya have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh, with some estimating that as many as 15,000 continue to make the dangerous journey each day. Part of them die into this journey.
Myanmar has rejected allegations of systematic atrocities against the Rohingya, telling the United Nations security council that “there is no ethnic cleansing and no genocide in Myanmar”.
