Tomb Raider (2018). The river may have moved Miss Lara, but it definitely didn’t move me. No toilet break which I’m like WOW! Rated: ‘Best Before’.
Oh dear, the film was all Tomb and not enough Raider I’m afraid. Yet, even though this dreadfully told story was as lifeless as #himiko herself, I did find peace with the some of the action sequences.
Ok let’s discuss the beginning of the film, what is that all about? Lara Croft is an energy, an independent woman who can take on pretty much anything (given the right person controlling her). Could this be the mistake? The unbalanced origin styled event was a perfect example of a successful game, being turned into disappointing movie, at the cost to many fans!
Unfortunately the on screen relationship of Lara and her father was confusing as she should lead the film, rather than being lead by her father. Unless this is through gumption of wanting to succeed her fathers memory! When Richard Croft suggests to sacrifice one to save the millions I was hoping he meant me! #dominicwest played a terrible role as #laracroft father. #aliciavikander was cunning and determined towards the end of the film and showed promise in the action sequences. However, she fell flat interpreting an English action hero. .
The filmed looked like it was created on a shoestring and didn’t explore more of the realms of adventure expected by a @tombraidermovie. There was a clear scene pinching from #raidersofthelostark, yet the film was so safe that not even being impaled whilst raiding a tomb seemed scary. Go big or go home, unfortunately I’d suggest staying at home people! Unless, you can make it passed the flat first half of the film, then your a winner. I enjoyed elements don’t get me wrong, I was just disappointed!
