How are you supposed to react to the news that you have a brain tumor? Like many kids his age, Julian was moving on to the next stage of his life with college. Things started off well until he received the news that he had a brain tumor. As you can imagine, life had to be on hold for a while until he recovered. Julian and I worked out regularly before he left for college. After he recovered, he wanted to get back in the gym. He had loss his strength, gained weight, and had little to no stamina. What he displayed on his first day back was heartbreaking. There was something missing from him. Yet, there was something new. When I look into his eyes, I saw something brewing. An intense flame had sparked within. He poured that into his exercise routine. --
After a few months, he started to get his strength back. We started boxing again. After a few more months, he started getting his tone back. He wasn't done there. He wanted to go further...and he did. If you have seen his past videos then you saw him mastering pullups. Over time, Julian put on more mass, increased his strength and went further than he had ever gone before he had the tumor. I wanted to challenge Julian to redefine himself so I challenged him to do a photoshoot. These are a few shots from our photo session.
How are you supposed to react to bad news? I don't know but I can tell you what Julian did. He just chose to become bigger than the bad news......then he simply moved on with his life. That was a chapter of his life that was difficult but it made him better. ----
