MOVEMENT MONDAY !! Add these two drills to your routine! From the master sensei himself @Coach_cannon !
How fast you can move your feet is one thing, but how fast can your feet move you is another!
Movement Circuit 1&2
Select any desired footwork pattern for the ladder, keep it short and sweet, you want to activate your fast twitch muscles, not abuse them.
The next portion attacks your body awareness/control, the movement in drill 1 is our pressure step, we will see this again later in the week, the pressure step is used in various places on the field, to change direction while you’re pass rushing, running a route, reacting to a screen pass that’s to the left or the right of you etc. In drill 2, weaving back and forth through the cones is another way attatcking your muscle memory so that being able to stop your forward progress and transfer your weight left, right, forward and/or backwards becomes second nature for you!
And the last part of the drill is to keep it smooth always think of a way to get your feet rolling at the end of a movement drill circuit with a weight transfer movement (drill 1) or a muscle burner (drill 2)
