@hoagie_dom went #TwoHoagieThursday this evening.
First, the #1, classic bánh mì or "mixed meat hoagie", pâté, some carrot, cucumber, daikon, slice of jalapeño and cilantro. Second, the #2-A... the BBQ pork bánh mì. Different meat, same toppings. Pork was fatty and crispy.
Vietnamese know their way around a hoagie. That is for sure. That is for damn sure. Cheap too @ $5 each.
Both excellent. And surprise surprise it starts with the bread. These French baguettes are baked in house every morning. "No way!?!" Yes, way. And my goodness are they light, crispy and perfectly chewy. Hold that mixed meat well, bread.
I wish the owner was my real father. He was excited to see me. Happy to show me his light up sign and his 5x 'Best of Philly' Awards. I miss you Vietnamese Dad. 🥖🥖🥖🥖 out of hoagie rolls
