If you would have told me a year ago that I would have made 40 knives by this time next year, I would've said you were crazy. But here it is #40. 1084 steel, lightly charred century old Oak with red liners, and brass corby bolts. 8" blade and 13" overall. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one! #GraberForge #blacksmith #bladesmith #40

Normalizing cycles are key to forging a strong blade. This is something I learned very early on in my blacksmithing journey. I'm grateful for those who've gone before me from whom I can soak in all there experience and knowledge. #GraberForge #AlwaysLearning

This is my latest project and my personal favorite to date! The blade is 2.5" long and 3/16" thick, and the overall length is 5.5". The blade is made from a repurposed coil spring and the handle is made from a 100 year old Oak beam from our farmhouse, with texturing for added grip, and brass Corby Bolts and lanyard tube wrapping it all up. This is an awesome utility knife and is very comfortable in the hand. This knife is available with a custom sheath. If you or someone you know are interested to purchase this knife or place a order feel free to contact me :) A BIG thanks to my sister in law Katie for the awesome pictures! #GraberForge #blacksmith #ForgedinFire #bladesmith #blacksmithing

The blade is made from a piece of repurposed coil spring, the handle is made from 100 year old Oak with added texturing for added grip, and the corby bolts and lanyard pin are brass. This knife feels amazing in the hand and I can't wait to get a sheath made and get this piece to its new home! The latest addition to the family. This knife is patterned after a Case butcher knife my dad found in a old farm house years ago. The blade is made from O1 steel, and the handle is made from 100 year old Oak that I pulled out of our house that we are remodeling. I added the lines on the blade with the grinder and did all the design on the spine with a hand file. All in all this knife turned out awesome! If you or anyone you know is interested in having me make a custom blade that'll handle whatever you throw at it, shoot me a message! #GraberForge #blacksmith #ForgedinFire #bladesmith

Latest creation! Its a spin of a small cleaver/utility knife. The blade is 3" long and 6 1/4" overall. If you or someone you know is interested shoot me a message! #GraberForge #blacksmithing #bladesmith #ForgedinFire

Is it the prettiest thing in the world? Of course not. Is it functional? Yes. I got to make a handle for a dresser drawer for my best friends mom. Made out of an old pitch fork tine. #GraberForge #blacksmithing #stilllearning #notprettybutfunctional

She sold! It was bittersweet to package her up, but I'm excited that I sold my first blade! #GraberForge #blacksmithing #bladesmith #firstofmany #ForgedinFire

My latest project! It's a miniature machete type knife, 8" blade with 2" of scalloping on the bottom end of the blade, Gancolo (Tiger Wood) handle, and brass Corby Bolts. I plan on adding a lanyard on this one as well. This is one of my favorites and this is my first blade that I'm putting up FOR SALE. If you're interested shoot me a message! #GraberForge #blacksmithing #ForgedinFire

Forged this one tonight. This one was the remains of the cracked project I started yesterday, and I figured I'd try to make something out of it and I think it came out pretty good. I call it "Boxy but Good" lol. I got it all heat treated and tempered tonight and no signs of cracking issues. #PraiseGod #GraberForge #blacksmithing #bladesmith #stilllearning #boxybutgood

Just finished up a forging session in the dark. The knife I was working on cracked in the very beginning and wasn't salvageable so I decided to make something else lol. It reminds me of a quote I saw recently. It went something like "Don't get discouraged when plan A doesn't go as planned....there is always 25 more letters." I'm thankful I am able to take some time out to do this and that I have an amazing wife that encourages me to try new things! I love you @clarahorsetrainer <3 #GraberForge #bladesmith #blacksmithing #stilllearning #presson #thankful #Ihaveanawesomewifej8ght

My current project! It reminds me of a miniature machete with an added touch of 2 inches of scalloping at the base of the blade. I also added some gimping to the top side of the blade and extra hole at the end for a lanyard. This piece will be for sale when I am finished! If you're interested PM me! #GraberForge #bladesmith #blacksmithing

Finished sculpting the handle and drilling the tang today! I'm really happy with how this turned out. I'm hoping to cut out the scales tonight! #GraberForge #blacksmithing #ForgedinFire #madebyhand

1

The current work in progress and the largest knife I've forged to date. Blade is 8" long with the last inch on the tang end is scalloped with a chainsaw file on suggestion from my dad, which made a nice touch on this weapon. I got the hest treat wrapped up tonight-I hope to get the handle sculpted and the blade tempered tomorrow and then it's on to scales and pins... #GraberForge #blacksmithing #ForgedinFire

These are a few of the ideas and designs I put on paper when I started forging. This is only the beginning and I enjoy learning something new every time I fire up the forge. #GraberForge #ForgedinFire #planningandlearning #blacksmithing

Wrapped up this project this weekend as a gift for my father-in-law. Forged from a Nicholson file, Bocote wood handle, with stainless steel corby bolts. As a personal touch, I had one of guys at work etch his initials into the blade. This is my 2nd completed knife! #GraberForge #blacksmithing #knifemaker #learningwitheveryblade

2

After I built my coal fire forge after being inspired from watching " Forged in Fire" and @wilderforge, and made a few "Learning Curve" blades, this one was my first start to finish knife. The blade is made from a file I obtained through a coworker, the handle is made from Osage Orange, and stainless steel corby bolts wrapping it all together. #GraberForge #knifemaker #blacksmithing #ForgedinFire

One of my first "Real" projects. Forged out of a 11/16" cresent wrench. This was very fun and a great learning experience! #blacksmithing #GraberForge

Welding in some extra support for my forge stand. I got all the angle iron for free from a farmer friend. #freeisthebestdiscount #GraberForge #blacksmithing #beginningsoftheforge

The beginnings of my forge! I scored this thick-walled water tank from my buddy Ted. I promptly cut the top section of the tank off to use it as a "Cradle" for my fire pot and a base to run my air supply into the fire pot as well. #GraberForge #blacksmithing #beginningsoftheforge

The first blade I ever forged (post grind/buff). I haven't put any kind of handle on it, but it was a great learning experience! #GraberForge #blacksmithing
