The direction your toes point at the top of the movement will determine which muscles of the quads you will be working, to keep it simple:
-Toes straight- the middle, and upper quads
Toes pointed in - works the outer quad sweep
Toes pointed out- works the inner teardrop, and middle thigh.
I like to do this exercise “21s” style:
7 reps toes in
7 reps toes out
7 reps toes straight.
I always save quads for the end of the workout, after all the heavy squats and lunges, because i feel that i can focus on the glutes with the big lifts Instead of having my pre-exhausted quads give out or try to take over.
