I DID IT!!! I ACTUALLY DID IT!
26.2 miles 🏁✔️😭
To many people, running a marathon may feel like the impossible, I mean 9 months ago it did to me. But then so did simply getting up on a morning and being grateful for life. I knew I needed something to prove to myself I could push my limits further, further than I ever imagined were possible. Just like life, the journey of a marathon has many obstacles, many barriers, many times you want to just throw the towel in and totally give up. Except the truth is, you are capable. If you want something enough then your mind and body will get you there. After 9 months of physical and mental training the day finally came. I hit walls, I cried tears, the little voice in my head said stop now but mile after mile I kept going.
26.2 miles later I was rewarded with a feeling that no money in this world could ever buy. I finally found a sense of respect and love for myself, something I have never had.
For anyone out there that is constantly putting themselves down, feeling incapable, unworthy, insecure...I dare you. I dare you to set yourself a challenge that you think is well beyond your capability, give it all you have, and tell me it's not the best thing you ever did.
