#Godspeed Chris Prior ... photo by @priorsnow 🙏🙌🤘💙 When I opened my Whistler shop in the fall of 2007 one of my first stops was the Prior factory. I had been in #Whistler for a decade already and thought what could make my home away from home more local, more authentic and uniquely Whistler than letting the people who visit see what Chris and Dean and the boys and girls there had created and take some home. I amassed a wish list of Spearheads and Khyber splits with @chilithomstudio Chili’s Prior Wave (I have the print at home still) and the biggest collection of Overlord Skis in any shop (I was the only Prior ski dealer then, LOL) and if I sold a ski or a board it was a sad day for me because I loved every hand picked custom ordered piece of Prior, down to the t-shirts and hoodies and beanies, every one meant #home to me.
I have to confess I knew who Chris was before Whistler (yes I was a #windsurfer in the 80’s...ha!) and one day after opening I remember sitting on the red chair with him one day listening to him talking about taking apart his board and making the tip softer and saying to him how I wished my Overlords had a flat tapered tail for easier release in big mountains and skinning ... and I have to say he was so much in the moment - like a mountain man Jay Adams - every time we met on the hill or in the factory that I swear I didn’t know if he remembered me. Ha, ha!
And yes, they made me those skis for me as a one off before they went public the next year. 👍
Live every moment and make today count people. God speed, #love and #wings brother. 🏂⛷🙌🙏💙 #legend #RIP #ChrisPrior
