time for a lil bit of freelance honesty for ya !
fern and fiber is not my full time job. hopefully one day it will be, but for now i'm gonna work my butt off until i can make that happen. when i'm not in the studio, i'm a babysitter for guests at a local resort, @sea_island and i love that job - this is my fifth summer with them! sometimes they keep me really busy. in the past nine days i've worked 70 hours, changing diapers, making dinners, taking kids to the pool. busy weeks like this mean less studio time, which is hard when my creative to-do list is about a mile long. but it puts things in perspective and reminds me how blessed i am to love both jobs i have.
today is my first day off in a week and a half. but im still up at 7am and in the studio five minutes later. that's how i know i'm doing the best thing for me. despite an exhausting week of long hours babysitting, the first place i run is the studio (after my bed of course). when i'm not creating, i'm thinking about creating. and when i'm creating, everything feels right
(ps - if you're a fan of freelance honesty, you need to know my friend allison at @thesmallcreative - she's the OG freelance honestly gal and i'm always inspired by her)
