I started my own business at age 40, after being a Stay at Home Mom for many years. Feeling alone in this new adventure and unsure if I fit in, I looked for an online community that I could connect with. I found one in the Rising Tide Society. As I watched Natalie & Krista sitting on that front porch, connecting with others thru Periscope, I knew I had found my people. They had a passion for serving others, finding purpose and spreading happiness, just like I did. I was hooked and my world was forever changed.
Even though I'm not a an official Rising Tide Leader in my state, I'm a leader in my life and with my community.... with my clients, my Model Team girls, my family, my kids, my friends, and my community. I mentor, share, and encourage every chance I get. And I seek out encouragement when I need it because I believe in their motto, Community Over Competition.
I wanted to share this today in hopes I can reach out to someone who needs to know they are not alone at their laptop. We are out here. Join a community online like @risingtidesociety. Follow others who inspire you, not overwhelm you. Be patient in your growth. Find courage to chase your dreams, because it's so incredible once you've found them and begin creating new ones. But most importantly, you might find the greatest new friends to add to your life like I did.
And to all those early-on leaders, movers and shakers...the ones who took a moment to talk with me at a conference, workshop or comment on a post with encouragement, thank you. Every one of you is changing the world, and creating an army of us who are doing the same. #risingtidesociety #communityovercompetition
