I DESPERATELY need motivation. Currently, I'm fighting with my office computer to open a file I need 🙄 And somehow, I need to, get data ready for a grant re-submission, like, yesterday; get my own data in order for a meeting about it tonight; write my final for cognitive development by Monday; and see 2 babies on Friday and another plus a 4 year old on Saturday (for research purposes). I'm exhausted just thinking about everything I need to do.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS:
The blind men and the elephant perspective in philosophy can be correlated to the scientific underpinnings of our approach to nutrition and disease. The "holistic" doctor is taboo in our culture because they offer an approach to medicine that is impossible to prove. How can you prove the thousands of interactions of a piece of fruit with a multitude of fibers, sugars, nutrients, and minerals has in your body compared to an isolated nutrient or mineral? Supplement companies live by a reductionist way of thinking acting like something stripped down to its fine component parts will act the same as it does in a whole food giving you all your vitamins and mineral for the day. It doesn't work like that and never will. There will never be 'proof' that a WFPBD focused on the microbiome health can prevent over 90% of the diseases that plague our society. It's not in big lobbying interests because it doesn't make them money when you can grow medicine in your backyard.
I live by a traditional view of food related medicine integrated by a scientific approach. You can have the best of both worlds.

CORE + UPPER BODY TRAINING 💪🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you tell someone to train their core the first that comes to mind are things like leg raises and sit-ups. Yes these can strengthen your core but it goes beyond that because you should be using your core to stabilise you with nearly all the exercises you do. Especially the compound exercises i.e deadlifts and squats! They are the route of back pain when done incorrectly yet the best exercises for functionality, strength and growth when done correctly. I hear many say they avoid these exercises because it hurts their back! Well of course because you aint doing it right mate! 🤔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your core is made up of the pelvic floor muscles, abdominal muscles and back muscles so adopting that mind to muscle connection in all those areas is key! Yes there is a lot to think about and remember but this is what will seperate you from the people who don't prioritise there body mechanics and their long term muscular and joint health. You will feel and look amazing because you are taking the honest and hard-working route. 🤓 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are so many ways to stengthen and stabilise more than one muscle group whilst buliding a solid foundation focusing on healthy and functional body positioning. Here I've put together a few dumbell exercises you can add to your workouts to focus on more than one muscle group yet all start with the core as a foundation. If you do these without engage your core muscles you will notice your body will shift to one side or rock back depending on the plane of each exercise. They act as anti rotational movements to focus on getting your hips in central position when lifting and engaging in activities. Give them a go and don't forget use your CORE!! 🤠 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Inclined Renegade Row
2. Seated close grip press
3. Alternating dumbbell rows

I’m 22, I run my own business, Ive won 7 bodybuilding trophies, I have a mortgage, my car, bills and around 70 + clients to care for. I don’t have a big group of friends, in fact I have 2 or 3😂. I don’t go out with them much because I dedicate myself to my goals and I’m lucky they understand and accept me for that.

I suppose what I’m trying to say, if your crazy enough to not let anything stop you, meet every challenge head on, do whatever needs to be done and keep going and going and going and going. Even when you feel like your getting no where, you’ll suddenly realise, that ‘nowhere’ is exactly what you was dreaming about. I honestly believe 2019 is going to be an amazing year and I am so excited to push forward and change as many lives as possible 🙏
