Remove “I CAN’T” from your vocabulary. Saying “I CAN’T” eat something is punishment language. You can eat whatever you want, but when you CHOOSE to make different decisions then it’s just a lifestyle change not a limitation. Remember that you learn the most through the process, not the outcome. Be kind and patient with yourself. Enjoy the holidays and practice CHOOSING different options/sizes, etc. You are mentally strong! You can do it! 🦃🍾 #megamorph #lifestylechange #bekindtoyourself #mindfulness #attitude #mentalgame #healthyholidays

I’m in the building phase of my long toss program. Rehab has been going as smooth as I could imagine. Don’t have a partner a lot of the times, but the net gets the job done! There’s always a way to get your work in. Stop looking for excuses 👊🏻

It took me 11 weeks to go from squatting 315 to 320 for 1x5. 11 weeks in a row of failing. Last week was a new pr of 320. Today was a new pr of 325.

Here’s what Butch Harmon has to stay about improving your launch with your driver. .
“ If you have a hard time getting your tee shots up in the air, you're giving up serious distance. I've got a tip that will help you: Check your stance width. I see so many amateurs who stand too narrow. They set their feet about as wide as their hips, head in line with the ball, shoulders level (above, right). That's not a stable position, and usually sends the ball short and right.
.
Try this instead: Take your normal stance, then drop your right foot back a few inches, letting your head go with it. Your spine will tilt away from the target, with your shoulders angled upward (above, left). Now you're in position to really launch the ball. In fact, you'll hit it slightly on the upswing without changing anything in your swing. That'll give you a higher trajectory and more carry distance.”
.
We hope this is helpful to you and your game! Come in to 1611 to apply this advice to your game and get instant feedback with one of our trackman which will provide you with your launch angle after every shot! This is just one of the many ways that trackman can help improve your game. We are proud to be powered by this state of the art technology designed to help you train and play smart! ⛳️⛳️⛳️⛳️

Mental strength is what makes you achieve your goals. Without working on the mind through good food and healthy lifestyle choices, it is much harder to succeed. I used to be an all or nothing person but I'd always get burnt out. Give up and obviously fail. That failure was damaging to my mindset. I've learnt that for me, small achievable steps will lead into habits, then those habits form stronger pathways to start new steps. Every little bit of healthy is a good thing...so dont put yourself down for it, rather continue that good habit and continue to add it to it. .
.
Success breeds success. So today, go be successful✨🌱

#FlashbackFriday to my first Half Marathon last weekend. Felt super proud and accomplished crossing that finish line, but it was a huge mental battle. I sprained my knee around mile 6 going down a rough dirt path. A sharp pain came across my “good knee” so I went to the medical tent and they said all I could do is put biofreeze on it and walk the rest of the way.... walk?!? 7 miles. Mentally I had the energy and passion to keep running, but physically my knee couldn’t. Feeling defeated walking and attempting run some parts broke me down thinking I wasn’t made to do it, but I never gave up.
I finally crossed the finish line 🏅 to see that athletes of all shapes and sizes also had injuries like myself, making me realize even the best of athletes get injured and to never give up. I’m ready for my next #halfmarathon with a better head on my shoulders! Until next time.

Goal setting and writing down your goals is something that we stress in pitching lessons. Writing down a goal and checking in on it every week makes you more likely to obtain that goal, whatever it may be. 💭☺️ #practicepro #advanceyourgame #chicagogram #chicagopitchinglessons #oakpark #girlsthatpitch #fastpitch #softballworkout #softball #mentalgame #goalsetting #insta_chicago

Yesterday's workout, I focused on my weaknesses; #armstuff. I like being strong n I like throwing a lot of #heavyweight around but now I got to buckle down and address the weak links. 4 different workouts. 10 sec break. Circuit's of 4, 4x, every rep starting what my usual rep is or just a smidge more then increasing every rep x2. So #benching what us probably my 80% with 12x ending with 18. Woop woop. I was impressed with myself. I honestly wasn't sure I was going to be able to get it 18 times. My #mentalgame #strong & #determined. It is a start n I have a long road to get where I used to be and then some. Imma get there, watch! 👊 #strongmamas
Haha and Soffie yelling at me to hold on so she could do her #russiantwist with me.

You guys! It has been a busy, hectic, wonderful week here in the house. We have our 4th foster, our rescue group put on a successful fundraiser, and there's only 4 weeks left of the semester. Where did the time go?! It had me forgetting about Thankful Thursday yesterday!

This week has increased my sense of gratitude for my students. Every fall semester, Save the Children sends out their holiday catalog to sponsors. I always ask my students if they are open to fundraising for a gift from the class. This semester, my students were thrilled at this idea!! People say this generation of college students is lazy and selfish. Well, I spent 30 minutes of a 75 minute class (don't tell my boss) talking with them and answering questions about Save the Children and how they can help the organization. They have a giving spirit that gets overlooked so easily. I'm so thankful to Save the Children for allowing me the opportunity to give back and be a sponsor and for allowing me to show my students how their small contribution can make a huge difference in a child's life. 💗

It's amazing what can be achieved when you believe in yourself.

The mind is incredibly powerful.

Believe in yourself and your capabilities without a doubt and you will become unstoppable 🙌
Half of any competition sport is about your mental game. You may be strong and capable physically, but if you crumble under pressure or let self doubt take a hold of you in crucial moments you will lose that edge over your competition.

My big brother @matt_el1600 has been using essential oils from @nature2nourish to give him the edge with his disc golf game.
He uses Peppermint oil to keep him focused and concentrated throughout out his game, and also a blend of oils called 'Peace' which is the reassuring blend. This helps him with any stress, pressure or doubt in the crucial shots towards the end of his round. It helps him to not overthink his shots or crumble under pressure 🙌

They have been gamechangers for his disc golf game.

Do you need an extra edge over your competition?

Don’t measure yourself by the outcome. A win is a win, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. Stats and score lines don’t always show how well you performed. Instead of focusing on outcomes, focus on the process, put your attention to your efforts and attitudes. Even if you’re getting the results you want, never stop pushing yourself to greater heights.

My husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday (tomorrow). I could only think of one thing… time.
.
In August I started creating something that I am super passionate about, but it has taken a backseat to a crazy fall schedule. I asked for time to work on this project that is so close to my heart.
.
I get asked all the time by parents and athletes how to deal with hard things. How do I keep going when I’m afraid? How come I train so well but I compete terribly? How come I am so intimidated by the better athletes? How do I motivate my kid? How do I deal with difficult teammates? That’s just touching on a few.
.
Now, I’m no sports psychologist, but competing at the world level since 1995 and battling through so many difficulties time and again to win every world title, I think it’s safe to say I’ve learned a few things.
.
And I’m putting it all together in one place in a complete step-by-step course! .
Stay tuned by visiting the link in my bio to sign up for updates as I work hard to complete this and make it available to you!

This week has been a really hard week. I have some issues with my digestion and a lot of stress about it and working stuff.
But now I’m ready to work harder to enjoy my journey to my big dreams.
Remember dreams are not fulfilled dreaming about it but working hard and constantly.

So before starting this one, I wasnt really feeling it. I was light headed since I started my training last night (not enough water/food) so I really only wanted to do 6mins worth....but my ego wouldn't let me. My quads were on fire, the rest was short but I pushed thro all 8 mins.
*
And afterwards I can say with confidence: I am stronger...mentally and physically.
*
10 mins after a workout you are going to feel completely fine. I know I'll be fine, BUT I also want to be proud of the hard work I put in during that workout. I dont wanna sit there and think: dang I should have pushed harder.
*
My mental game is something I've been working HARD at...its an amazing feeling when you can control your thought process when things get tough 😈
*
Stay hungry, stay humble and have a blessed weekend beautiful people!

Workout from @ethos_of_strength
8min AMRAP:
Even mins- 1 snatch, 3 OH squats, 3 burpees over bar
Odd mins- 6 squat cleans, 10 hand release PUs.

Thin-Slicing + Sports Performance🧠💪
.
Have you ever felt like you put the work in to prepare for #GameDay and when the the lights turn on you never perform as well as you know you can?
.
As athletes, the ability to make instantaneous decisions in a game can be the difference between an elite and sub-par performance
.
Subconsciously, we can make these quick and “informed decisions” due to years of experience condensed into an instant actionable response
.
When we start to overthink and analyze, we override the innate ability to read what is happening in the moment
.
Athletes must learn to relax and stay within an ideal range of arousal with a heart rate of 115-145 bpm to allow their subconscious to process the game -> The Flow State
.
One section talks about a study on pro tennis players that recorded their movements while hitting and analyzed them. The players were not able to accurately describe their serve despite being totally confident about their form. They were shocked to watch the video only to see that the researchers were right!
.
Has anyone ever felt like this during a film session when the coach comes at you but you swore you did something different in the game.....The film don’t lie
.
Physically we do things that we can’t consciously explain. Hours and hours of training a movement lead to this “muscle memory” as we like to call it. Our conscious thinking can easily override this training if we allow it to, leading to errors and frustration
.
Not your typical sport psychology book but there are some lessons that definitely apply. Worth the read!

Being mindful of your session is HUGE in optimizing your overall capacity!
-
On the minute is one of those structures that has a lot of people rolling their eyes. -
The thought is that you are not going to benefit from and easy OTM (one that has ample rest) the same as something you break a sweat and lay on the floor after.
-
Proper mindset here is to immerse yourself into the movement at hand. Realize that you have been given an opportunity to FOCUS on a given movement.

Peak performance & mental toughness is often an afterthought when things are going well. Use success as well as failures to help improve your mental game. As you climb higher most people can't get by solely on physical ability. The mental makeup is a performance separator.

Let’s get M E N T A L 💪🏼 I initially heard about this book through Char Bendt during a yoga session and it is a game changer! It isn’t exactly a golf book but it has everything you need to have a great mental game. I will be citing it in the next couple of posts for those who don’t want to read the whole thing, though I highly encourage it! A lot of golf problems come from not staying mindful, so let’s practice mindfulness. 🧠🧘🏻‍♀️⛳️☺️ 🙌🏼
