People who don’t do #crossfit don’t see the functionality behind it. Although they do, it is difficult for people to comprehend how the snatch or muscle up translates to everyday life. (I mean you haven’t had to do a muscle up to scale a wall and get into your locked apartment? Ahem Colin). Squatting, pressing, deadlifting - it all translates to things we do everyday. Picking up heavy-ish objects (your child, luggage, 10 grocery bags, etc.) is something everyone should be able to do. Our #fitness level translates to our daily living activities. .

Crossfit includes a lot of movements that are just that- picking up heavy objects, carrying them, putting them overhead, even static holds. Grunt work is some of my favorite 🤗🤗 #packmule Sandbags, sled pushes, off object carries - anything with just pure work. #workcapacity This last weekend I moved and carried more than the movers the entire day (I really just needed their truck 🤷🏼‍♀️). During the rest, a 100kg deadlift ladder is to be completed starting from 1.
Workout is over when you can’t finish the deadlifts inside your rest period. *every time you fail to hit 150m in the 30 sec ski effort, you must complete 10 burpees to be done at the end.

First time ever hitting 145kg with a clean overhand grip.

Strength slowly climbing. 200kg back in the sights.

Deadlifts are absolutely butchered by most people (especially males) in the gym. Don't let your ego get the better of you.

A couple of points to remember; -
-
Stop sticking your neck up, this places major compression on small neurovascular structures in the neck, and can cause compression /degeneration /pain over time. It also compensates through to the lower back and can reinforce excessive arch (lordosis)
-
-
It's an equal amount of push and pull. Too much pull and you end up jacking up your back, too much push, and you'll end up squatting the weight
-
-
Strengthen the neural connection to ALL of your deep core. (Pelvic Floor, TVA, Diaphragm. Etc) Simply breathing isn't enough. There's a right and less optimal way to breathe when exercising.

Depress the shoulderblades, don't pull them back. Pulling them back increases your range of motion and is counterproductive.

Massive pr yesterday. Last time i did heavy overhead squat i did 85kg for 3 reps, yesterday i did 100kg for 3 reps and 105 for 1 rep. 🏋🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♂️ Todays cardio session was:
3 rounds.
900 m. Run.
50 cal row.
25 burpees over rower.
2 leg less rope climbs.
Then 5 rounds.
500 m. row.
12 Box jumps over
24 wallballs.

Back in a good position, reaching up high every stroke, legs bending with every stroke

Split stance is effective & faster for some people but like anything if you don’t do an equal amount on both sides then you’ll develop an imbalance. Only do it if you’re going to alternate left foot forward & right foot forward, don’t just stick to one side

😢NO😢
1️⃣Short strokes cause by trying to rush & go as fast as possible, ironically leads to you being slower
2️⃣This one is subtle but my body drops before my hands/arms, everything needs to be in sync
3️⃣Horrific Back position

Like any machine good technique practice at low intensity will help you improve, videoing yourself will also help. #skierg
