After talking to my client today I just wanted to put out there some of our conversation because I think it’s relevant to so many people.
She was finding that sometimes she’d feel anxious about training because she felt every session she had to smash it and burn a lot of calories in order to lose weight.
We went through why this wasn’t the case and how that’s not a healthy mindset for training.
Your training can assist in losing weight yes. But we should be training primarily for our health and wellbeing.
Your diet can determine whether or not you lose weight or gain weight! Be in a calorie deficit and try to improve the quality of your food and you will lose weight.
Train to get fitter, stronger and for mental strength. Have gym based goals that aren’t all about weight loss. This will help exercise to become a part of your life and not just a temporary fad.

The 6-8-10 Rule to Intermittent Fasting by @kalananglos 🥗

The 6-8-10 rule is an easy way to remember how to effectively use intermittent fasting to optimize performance. Research has shown that intermittent fasting can help reduce insulin resistance(blood sugars), increase heart health (triglycerides), improve cholesterol (lower total and LDL), and reduce inflammation without any reductions in strength and performance levels 🙌

The 6-8-10 rule says that the first 6️⃣ hours of your day, you should be PRIMING your metabolism by only ingesting water and coffee (black preferably). You can also include some low intensity steady state exercise to further boost your metabolic processes ❤️

The next 8️⃣ hours of your day you should consume all your calories. Eat 2-3 large meals within this time and be sure to include plenty of protein (1-2.5g/kg body weight), and micronutrient-dense foods 🥗

Finally, the last 🔟 hours of your day you should be resting, recovering, and digesting. This means only ingesting water and tea, while focusing on recovering your body and getting 7-8 hours of sleep 😴

I don’t promote a lot of “diets” out there, but if I had to emphasize one that can be beneficial for most people, it’s the intermittent fasting diet. I like it because it doesn’t restrict the type of food you intake, but the times you eat. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions! 👇
