Here is some player analysis for the Oakland Raiders this upcoming season. There is lots to look at!
QB Derek Carr will be entering his fifth year at Oakland and is mostly being drafted as a low QB2 in leagues currently. In some smaller leagues he’s often left on waivers. This should not be happening in my opinion. He should be drafted as a QB2 in all leagues. I feel he has potential to do great things this year. This isn’t only because their OL is improving, but also because now they just don’t have Cooper at WR. They have Nelson, a great WR from Green Bay and also Bryant from Pittsburgh to accompany Cooper. Having extra good targets for Carr will help him tons! I don’t expect Carr to ever be a consistent QB1 this season, but QB2 is a safe spot for him.
Going back to WRs, I expect Cooper to get the most receptions. I would start him as a WR2 as of now. Nelson is very hard to project because of having to adjust from Rodgers to Carr...so he’s at a WR3 right now. You want him on your team though, he has great potential if he can adjust to Carr. Bryant is also new to Oakland, coming out of Pittsburgh. He was very overshadowed by JuJu last year, and I feel he has potential as well but not as much as Nelson. He’s at a low WR5 to high WR6 for me now.
At the RB position there’s Lynch, who I think will have a better season this time around because of the improving OL as I said earlier and also now having experience with Oakland. He’s going as a RB2 right now in leagues but I would still only draft him as a RB3. Martin is the other RB that will get attention, but I don’t expect much out of him. What are your thoughts?
