We love hiking and, even better, hiking in the National Parks. So when @nature_valley contacted me about its Summer of a Million Miles Challenge, encouraging families across the nation to get outdoors and hike/walk a million miles, we jumped on it. Making sure we packed the essentials (water, a camera, and of course Nature Valley bars - the perfect hiking snack), we headed up to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks this past weekend, hiked and kayaked for two days, had a great time, and supported a fun challenge.
To join in the fun, download the MapMyHike app and join the Nature Valley Million Miles Challenge. Log your hikes to earn badges and rewards, and at the end of the summer, one lucky winner will be selected to win the grand prize, a trip to a National Park.* The challenge will run from now through August 31 and Nature Valley has pledged to donate $250,000 to help preserve and restore our National Park trails, once one million miles have been collectively logged on the MapMyHike app. *No purchase necessary. Ends 8/31/18. Must be 18. Details at www.naturevalley.com/hikeamillion.
