Tonight we had our last practice before we head into the tournament and I find myself a little emotional. The majority of these girls have played together for YEARS and they are only 9-11 year old girls. They have formed friendships that I can only hope last a life time. I have watched them grow from an age where making a good pass was their biggest goal to now competing with girls 2 years older, and winning games!
When I was asked to step in and coach this season everything in me screamed No!! I didn’t think that I could fill the shoes of their previous and AMAZING coaches, but what I quickly learned is that all these girls really needed from me was someone to keep this team together! They are the goofiest lil weirdos I have ever met and while I want to ring their necks at practice to get them to focus, they step on the court for game day ready as a squad to face any challenge. They are all truly kind, supportive and loving to one another and I am so so happy I was given the opportunity to be apart of this step in their journey!! Thank you to all of the parents who let me yell at their girls 3 times a week and supported my rookie coaching!! 🏐💜#neonsquad #lovethesegirls #20jumpingjacks #teamNation #volleyballforlife
