1) We suck at it (DUH 🙄😂😂), and.....
2) We don’t know how to do it effectively and efficiently.......

Here’s a step-by-step full body mobility routine that I myself follow. Keep in mind: every week I lift weights, do calisthenics, box, train Krav Maga and Isshin-Ryu Karate, and play basketball at a minimum. So all these stretches assist me in staying mobile for all those dynamic movements involved for each of these activities. This of course carries over into other activities, sports, and types of training. Here’s the full list, in order: ———————————

Cardio doesn’t have to be just some boring run on a treadmill. There are so many more options out there. I usually like to do a HIIT style circuit to get my cardio in (and also been enjoying the stairmaster recently), but recently I’ve been doing some padwork to get my heart rate racing. It’s super fun, burns loads of calories and is also a great way to relieve any stress. And there’s always some comedy gold thrown in there, especially with my girly punches and Nate’s hilarious commentary 😂 although, I do think I surprised him with my feisty ness. But, like I always say, never underestimate the little ones 🤣. .

There are many ways to get clients to lose timber without initially having to track calories. Having worked with a lot of very heavy men over the years it’s simply a case of getting them to move a little bit more - get hydrated, reduce alcohol and half the takeaways for the initial weight loss. However when the client has embraced better habits and ready to start tracking there are only two things they should worry about, calories and protein. You can workout your daily expenditure based on your stats and activity levels on our main site at www.30plusmensfitness.com Be honest with yourself about your activity levels, there’s a big difference between being lightly active (1-3x per week) and moderately active (3-5x per week). After you’ve worked out your daily / even weekly calorie expenditure you can now look at a sustainable daily / weekly calorie deficit. A weekly 3500 cal deficit will equate to 1lb loss a week and should be pretty easy to adhere to over a sustained period of time. A 7000 cal weekly deficit will get you 2lbs but may be harder to adhere to over the long term. Next up we have protein which should always be kept high in a deficit in order to retain and even build a little muscle... If you are sedentary x your bodyweight in KG by 1 for your daily protein needs. However if you are on a fat loss quest I take it your gonna be more active than sedentary so you could x bodyweight from anywhere between 1.2 and 2.0 - I always try and shoot for 1.5...... Hope this gives you some value lads, focus on cals : proteins and let’s the fat / carbs take care of themselves. - here i have oats & 🍌 (carbs), plant protein powder (protein) & hemp seeds and EVOO (fats). I eat this mid-morning around 10am 😋 -------------------------------------------

The Dumbbell Deadlift is a good early variation to teach the hinge movement.
Some pointers... 1. Weight on heels
2. Slight bend in knees
3. DB between feet (bottom of movement)
4. Push hips back
5. Brace core
6. Keep back neutral
7. Squeeze glutes hard at the top of the movement

... says who? says you? this is one of the numerous self-lifting beliefs that I see people themselves on the daily.

You CAN be disciplined enough, if you chose to be.

the habits and actions of your past self do not have to define you. Everyday, you have the opportunity to re-define and improve your character and if you “wish you were more disciplined” then start believing that you CAN be more disciplined.

it doesn’t matter if you’ve tried to “get fit” or “tone up” 173 times before today and think that you “failed” at each of those attempts. what matters is that every time you had a set back, you tried again. what if today was the first day of the attempt that you *actually* stuck to, and saw the results you’ve always wanted? Today can be that day. It’s up to you!

👨🏫I’m very quick to explain to all my clients early on, that in order to transform their bodies, implement new habits and change their mindset, a learning process has to occur over time. Just turning up to the gym and ‘winging’ it, will only get you so far (a few weeks maybe)

It won’t! Will lifting weights make you look bulky & muscular instead of lean & toned?
It depends on your goal!
I’m gonna try to keep this as short as I can, as I could go on forever on this subject (I could write an assays-in fact I had to, to get my qualifications).
• weightlifting will not make you LOOK muscular & bulky unless you want to.
• even if you wanted to, please understand that building muscles takes time, so you won’t look like Kai Greene anytime soon!
• if you have been lifting weights for a few months and think you are too “BIG”, I’m sorry to break it to you, but is not the muscles that makes you look “big” but your subcutaneous fat between your muscles & skin (if you didn’t have that fat, you WILL see the muscles definition)
• in order to lose weight and look toned you will need to have stronger & more DEVELOPED muscles, think of it as a balloon with air and one without under your skin, which one would make you look toned?? Think of your booty!
• muscles burn fat, the more muscles you have the quicker you’ll lean out!
• believe it on not you don’t have to choose between weightlifting & cardio, you can do both!
• but also bands have some sort of magic about them!!
• finally what you eat does play a major role in your weight loss journey!

Take time to stretch my friends! You don’t want to end up like I did...
When I first started my fitness journey, I went from never lifting AT ALL (was a cardio bunny🐰) to lifting heavy and NEVER stretching.

My coach never told me to stretch🙈 so I didn’t know how important it was!
.
Until I injured my back🤦🏻‍♀️ and couldn’t workout like I did before. And that KILLED me! My body was achey all the time, and my muscle soreness was out of this world. My legs would be so sore for almost a week!
.
I am thankful this happened because it lead my to yoga🧘🏻‍♀️ and incorporating stretching into my daily routine!
.
Stretching consistently healed my back🙌🏻 I’m sharing this with you because I don’t want you to get hurt like I did!
.
Take some preventative care and stretch before your body feels it’s 100 years old in your mid 20’s🙈

⛰️Do you love Yoga and Wine but not necessarily in that order?⛰️ Getaway on a 4 night adventure abound with flavour and fun in Australia's island Jewel Tasmania.
We spend our first evening in Hobart getting to know new and old friends over 3 course dinner with paired wines at the award winning Peacock & Jones Restaurant. Nestled on the Waterfront in an old sandstone warehouse this space has ambiance for days and a mouth watering menu featuring local Tasmanian Wine and Produce.
The senses really come alive on Day 2 as we explore the iconic Salamanca Markets, a bustling showcase of Tasmania's culture, food, music and art. Flanked in sandstone buildings on Hobart's waterfront with over 300 stall holders, this place is a shoppers paradise. You'll find everything from fashion to food or simply stroll around and soak up the atmosphere.
In the afternoon we meander down the Coast to Freycinet on Tasmania's East Coast where you'll be greeted with secluded azure water bays, white sandy beaches, granite peaks and the sight and sound of a 147 different Bird Species that call this paradise home.
Your home for the next few nights is just a few minutes past the township of Coles Bay and nestled inside the National Park at Freycinet Lodge. Your secluded cabin in this grounded yet elegant accommodation awaits. Freycinet Lodge is home to the areas premier restaurant where we enjoy a 3 course welcome dinner & daily buffet breakfast.

Luckily for us, we are in the middle of one of the best cool climate wine regions in the world. Day 3 will be spent tasting and feasting our way through 4 local wineries on a guided tour which includes a gourmet lunch from 11:30am till 4pm.
Day 4 is an opportunity to explore the area your way. Take a hike through the national park, a kayak or boat cruise on the bay or have a game of golf with a view.

The first exercise is just simply shrugs but hold at the top for 2 seconds:)

Second is just a standing military press with one of the dbs you were using for the shrugs!

Don’t take any breaks in between get right into the military press right when you finish the shrugs👌

Do 4 sets of this superset during shoulder day and those boulder shoulders will be on the way😏

Hate working out after work but today was a great day to film some of my workouts in an empty gym for the next challenge😜🙌🏻 worked up a sweat filming a bunch of different workouts that are gonna whip you into shape! You gonna be ready?! Some people say they wish they could do what I do, have the discipline I have, have all this extra time to prep by lunches for work, like a fairy stopped at my house one night and made me this way🙄 Truth is- all of you can do the exact same thing i do....and there is one secret on how- Believe you can!!! If you want it, you can have it! Simple as that! Think of some things you have been successful at getting in life- how did you get there? You probably worked at it and did everything you could to get it. Was it easy getting it? Guess it depends- but you either set yourself up for it to fall in your lap or you consistently worked towards it. So why are we so all or nothing with taking care of ourselves? Why not have as much drive or dedication to care for ourselves?🤔
You eat good Monday-Friday and get a little carried away Saturday. Instead of moving on and starting healthy the next meal you have, you say “I already screwed up once, I can’t do it now”. One bad meal, one skipped workout, one negative thought, will not cause you to be a failure - believe you can be who you want to be, and that includes not being perfect and not giving up.. Change your mindset and you will be so surprised at what you can accomplish! 5 years ago I would have never thought I would be where I am right now- and I know in 5 years it’s only gonna build up from here- I know it cause I’m gonna make sure of it! It’s all mine- and for all of you reading this wishing- go grab your future you too!! .

One week post race 🏊🏻‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🤩 I had realized that I needed a compelling REASON to become more consistent with my workouts, the shallow reasons just weren’t cuttin it. •
Pressing the Confirm button never felt so right. Having an exciting goal that means something to you is the way to go about fitness. •
So after pressing confirm, then began the 10 week challenge to work towards getting back in to shape and committing to training and eating healthy fuel!

Progress was not linear, I did not see the consistency that I wanted from my self throughout the entire time. Has this ever happened to you?

I started off strong the first month, but found my self OBSESSED, or overthinking, putting it as my TOP priority. Although I saw progress (in some weightloss, which was my subconscious reason for wanting to start training as well... though it’s like the opposite from building performance..) it was having a negative effect and straining my mental and emotional health (burnout). This led to wayning to the opposite side of taking training down a notch and being less obsessed with making sure my “macros” were hit every.single.day.

Life was a little more balanced the next couple of weeks. Then the next week fell completely off. The next was attempting to build some strength back up (remind you I’m in a deficit still, but even though I knew better, I thought I’d be fine). Fat loss plateaued. •
Its always 20/20 vision in hindsight. I learned a lot from this past challenge, and I’m excited to do things the right way this time instead of trying to attempt it all at once and not being as successful as I had hoped. •
Monday July 23rd marks the start of my next 10 week challenge for myself.

There’s gonna be LIFTING, there’s gonna be HIIT, fueling my body the correct way and the keeping of my sanity this time 🤗

MORAL of the story is that striving for progress takes trial and error, it’s hell in the moment but what you learn from it will last a lifetime.
once I have hit my goal, then the quest for performance building begins 😈😈😈 I hope to share my adventure!

The last few weeks I’ve felt so much calm in my life, I’m less ‘hectic’ I’m generally doing less ‘stuff’ and stopped
being busy for the sake of being busy. Because being busy and not be productive is a waste of energy.

A lot of people say ‘I’m too Busy’ but busy doing what? Tasks that don’t give you want you need and actually take away from you??

Take energy away from you that is better served to the things that matter, which are generally the things we neglect.

When I first started carb cycling I know I did 🙋🏼‍♀️ So, I started incorporating brown rice and quinoa in with my meals more frequently. Both are easy, cheap, simple to make and can be delicious with just about any type of protein! •
