(FULL REVIEW: Sorry that it’s a month late...) The Marvel Cinematic Universe is something so unprecedented and special. The MCU has always impressed me with how well they have created one universe to hold what is now 19 films, but also for each film to have their very own distinct and unique flare. That first avengers film is still incredibly special and timeless for me. It’s definitely one of my favorite films and in my opinion; the definition of a perfect superhero film. So with Infinity War being released, which is 18 films and 10 years in the making, it’s not just a movie, it’s an event. And how is it? After watching this film 3 times in its first week, I feel safe to tell you my definitive opinion on Avengers: Infinity War. A near flawless film that delivers on every level. Infinity War has done it. IT HAS BLOWN ME AWAY. The Russo Brothers have to be commended for pulling off the impossible because they really did. Fitting in all these characters from all these different films sounds insane, but the Russos have found a way to make something so large feel so grounded, and that’s my biggest praise towards the film; everything works. The story is simple, but incredible and fits the movie perfectly. With the tease of Thanos and the infinity stones being spread out through the MCU for years, this film is that pay off so it cuts right to the point and does not get boggled down by anything else because it DOESN’T NEED TO. This movie has simply so much to fit in into 1 film, and it does that the best it possibly could’ve. And that story is supported definitely by the MCU’s best villain yet; Thanos. After so much anticipation for this villain to be great, he’s even better than expected. This is a very Thanos centered film, and you’re almost following him as the protagonist. He is so well developed, intimidating, and heartfelt. His relationship with Gamora is brilliant and is one of the best aspects of the film. His religious views and philosophies is incredibly smart and add so much to the film. You completely understand his perspective, having very valid reasons and great analogies. You honestly side and agree with him at times.
