Pamper days needn't cost the Earth! 🌍💚 Bubble bars (this one being The Comforter from Lush) may cost slightly more than a bottle of Radox, but they are by far the more eco friendly option. 🛁 No plastic covering (saving the production of millions of virgin plastic bottles), vegan, a relatively long shelf life (just don't do what I did and get it wet without the intent of using it... That's a quick surefire way to kill your bubble bar!), and, unlike bath bombs, you can get 4-8 baths out of them. Definitely worth the moderate investment at this time of year! 🍁
The same is for shampoo bars (this one is Jason and the Argon Oil). Again, it may cost slightly more than your average shampoo as an upfront cost. But, when used correctly, they last for MONTHS (I have very thick, curly hair that sits just above my bum and they always last 3.5 months), which, again, cuts back on millions of plastic bottles. 🚿 Still very happy with the Jade Roller cleansing balm, Banana Skin serum, and American Cream naked gel, with Eua Roma toner water, muslin cloth, and weekly Tea Tree face mask. The use of muslin cloth helps to reduce single use cotton, which, by extension, places less pressure on water resources (more on this in the works!). 💅
Of course, none of this has to be bought in an instant. No one is perfect. Just replace things when your stuff runs out, and as and when your budget allows! You'll be amazed at how much of a difference the small things make, especially where cosmetics are concerned. 😍
Been a bit MIA this week, as I needed a breather after a difficult few days as an old and complicated shoulder injury has reared its ugly head again 🌝 Looking forward to a lovely smelling, cruelty free bath! 🛁 Been promising a teaser of my food project. That will be this coming week! 🎉 But for now, have a picture of tonight's dinner (homemade seitan "ribs" with Chinese-style barbecue sauce)
Have a great weekend!
