Below is the recipe for our Green Tea Punch, as seen in the Banks Punch book co-written by Jim Meehan and David Wondrich. Enjoy!
GREEN TEA PUNCH BY JIM MEEHAN
Classic Punches are comprised of five ingredients: spirit, sugar, citrus, spice, and a more substantial portion of a liquid such as tea or wine. The grassy sencha tea reinforces the herbal notes in the 5 Island Rum, while the aromatic mint and nutmeg brighten the earthy mixture.
750ml BANKS 5 ISLAND RUM
11oz BREWED SENCHA TEA
11oz BREWED MINT TISANE
8oz LIME JUICE
1 Cup DEMERARA SUGAR
PREPARATION: Brew the tea, then stir in the sugar until it dissolves. Add 4 cups of ice to chill and dilute the mixture, then add lime juice and rum. Chill before service.
SERVICE: Add to a punchbowl filled with one large block of ice.
GLASSWARE: Punch cups filled with ice.
GARNISH: Grated nutmeg
