I feel like Randy's run as a heel for about 6 or 7 months has gone a bit unappreciated. Let me take you back to 2017, the night after Wrestlemania 33. Randy had just pinned Bray in one of the worst championship matches in Wrestlemania history the night before, and people were not happy about him being champion. Randy has always been way better as a guy chasing the title than holding one, as was the case here. Once he lost the title to Jinder, he was directionless for almost a year until he beat Bob Roode for the US title, having a super underwhelming reign with it that ended in the same fashion as his world title reign, losing it to Jinder lmfao. After getting surgery a few months later, he returns and attacks Hardy, stomping him right in the balls. From that point onward, Randy Orton has been on one of the most creative heel runs I have seen in a long time. When he chooses his next victim, he thinks of these ways to completely wipe them of their identity. Jeff Hardy's personality by wiping his facepaint, Tye Dillinger's 10 by "breaking" his fingers, and Rey Mysterio's super hero-like appearance by taking his mask. It's instances like these that make me want a Styles and Orton fued more than anything. I wonder in what creative way could Orton wipe the identity of Styles? It's intriguing to say the least. I hope they put this heel Orton to work again soon because there is some serious untapped potential in this new iteration of the viper.
