Growing up, Sundays were always my favorite days of the week. We’d get up early and go to church with my entire family; all 20 of us would squeeze into one pew and we’d worship together, elbow to elbow. Then we’d all caravan to breakfast (what I would now call brunch) together and sit at the local bistro for 2 to 3 hours, talking, catching up, and just enjoying each other’s company. After which, we would all go back to my grandparents house to play cards, watch football, and simply be together. It was the perfect way to start our week- together as a family.
My Sundays look a little different now, being 3 hours from home. But, they still have one thing in common- family. What Paul and I now call “Sadie Sundays” is our own rendition of what I’ve always loved about this day; we start the week reminding ourselves what’s most important: God and family.
