So I went back and forth on sharing this but I feel like it’s good to have a dose of reality every once in a while ♂️
New Zealand and Australia have been fantastic, but there have been a few things that have been surprising in the bad way So first, I took my case off my phone for about a day, and during that time, I dropped my phone (which I literally never do) and the screen is is now broken which I haven’t done since my iPhone 4s
Then, on our way to Twizel, I may or may not have been going a bit faster than I was supposed to, annnddd I got a speeding ticket
Then, while we were in Queenstown, Jackie’s wallet got stolen which normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but this time it was because we had $400 cash in there .
Then, while flying from Queenstown to Sydney, the airline we were flying made us check our carry ons and charged us $50 per bag to do it ♂️
LESSON HERE All of that to say that I’ve been trying to live by the Five Minute Rule. Something that was reiterated to me recently by my buddy @calebmaddix And here it is...if it won’t matter in five years, don’t let it bug you for more than five minutes It’s one thing to say it, but when all that crap happens, it’s much more difficult to actually follow through on it. But, if you do, it’s the most liberating feeling in the world
It’s in the past, you can’t do anything about it anymore. ♂️ Blow off steam for a few minutes, and then move on! This post is the first I’ve thought about all of this since they’ve happened and I even had to ask Jackie to remind me of a thing or two because I already forgot about them! Stop letting things like this shape the way you’re viewing life. Think about things you’re grateful for and how awesome your life really is, and just let go and move on #SorryForAnotherLongRant
