I think I may finally have fixed my relationship to social media. I took a month off to ponder my relationship with the internet in general..... I have a thinking problem , I don't know how to turn it off... I'm curious about everything from all perspectives. That's how I make up my mind about something and form an opinion, i look at it from multiple angles and take them al into account, but It's extremely hard to do on the internet if you do not know how to tell the difference between a reliable source of information and all the rest of the garbage on there And even if you do, eventually it just becomes too much to deal with it... . It's pure psycholigical warfare, going online,..... within seconds of logging on you are bombarded with some corporations agenda to sell you something.... and they spend millions of dollars creating propaganda oops i mean advertising and marketing on how to do so... They've even gone so far as to convinced us to start callung ourselves BRANDS... i am a human and an artist, a woman... not a fucking brand. I am not here to buy products so that rich people can get richer and everyone else suffers and dies from disease, hate, poverty, climate change etc and inevitably after all my research on the internet, data and social media, the conclusion must be drawn that using social media is 100% contributing to this unethical thing we call capitalism.. I don't want to contribute to that but I also friggin love the medium.. Its a PERFECT TOOL FOR ARTISTS. So I'm going use it to be a dose of reality... and the reality is, that we are all beautiful people looking for love and acceptance and meaning. We all want our basic human needs met and we want to know that we have friends, family and a community that will support, encourage and guide us through this insanely difficult thing called life. So I'm going to use social media and my art to do that..I'm going to use capitalism to help switch us over to a new way of being.... one in which we can all take part, equally, in this thing called life.. And the truth is, despite whatever opinions you have, we all want the same things, so let's start helping each other achieve this despite our differences.
