Sometimes life isn’t perfect. Sometimes you don’t hit your macros. Sometimes you don’t have time for cardio. Sometimes you don’t get all your lifts in. Recently that has been the case for me. I’ve been struggling to keep my motivation and my spirits up, especially while I am in this time of transition between undergrad and vet school and moving 11 hours away. Trying to graduate, working a part-time job, and training a future service dog is hectic enough on its own. Plus, it seems like everyone I know is getting engaged or married already and I’m over here single af so that has me feeling pretty shitty about myself, but that’s senior year for ya right? ♀️ I’ve been struggling to find time to meal prep, lift, and work in cardio as much as I should be, but that’s why I love that this is a fitness JOURNEY. Life doesn’t allow you to always do the same thing day in and day out. Shit happens. You get sick or injured or just plain busy and you have to adapt. Sometimes you can’t make fitness your #1 priority and it’s better to adjust your goals to more realistic ones than keep goals you know you can’t keep up with right now. All that will lead to is you constantly feeling disappointed, and when you’re always feeling disappointed in yourself and not hitting any of your goals, you’re going to start getting discouraged and eventually give up to an extent.
I recognized this was happening to me and realized I could either give up or I could have an honest conversation with my coach and readjust my goals to something more realistic for me right now. So, rather than continuing to try to do a massive cut I will be switching gears and reverse dieting into a lean bulk.
I am so thankful to have such an understanding coach that welcomes me pouring out all my struggles (both physical and emotional) to her. @marissaroyfitness has already put up with so much from me these last 6 weeks, including me being late on every single check-in saturday lol but tonight she sent me an email containing nothing but support that honestly had me tearing up. I’m so thankful I have her in my corner. She really does give her clients 110% and there’s no one else I’d rather be working with
