The endocannabinoid system is a crucial part of our physiology, but your high school biology class probably neglected it. 🤔 Its a series of receptors and chemical communicators which keep our mind and body running smoothly - operating in a perfect homeostasis. 💪 It controls pain and inflammation. It regulates mood and stress. It operates the immune system. It manages memory and learning. It modulates appetite. ❤️ Its also why cannabis, and its many compounds, have such a powerful influence over our health and wellness. The little cannabis compounds (cannabinoids) integrate seamlessly into the endocannabinoid system. Sometimes as perfectly as a key into a lock. Thanks THC! 🌱 Fun Fact - the endocannabinoid system was only discovered and named because of research into cannabis & the human body. 👏 #cannabis4anxiety#beatanxiety#cannabisforanxiety#cannabis#cannabisfeminist#weedandwomen#successfulstoner#sparktheconversation#mmj#cannabisculture#cannabinoids

Wanda James is the CEO and Founder of Simply Pure and president of Cannabis Global Initiative (CGI), a cannabis consulting firm. Along with her husband, Scott Durrah, she became the first black, female dispensary owner in Colorado in 2009. Below is an excerpt from her interview about diversity in the cannabis industry with NJ Cannabis Media. 💫 “When you talk about mass incarceration, you’re talking about cannabis arrests. You’re talking about historically 800,000 people a year being arrested for simple possession and of that 800,000, 75 to 80 percent are black and brown.
If we can participate on the criminal side of cannabis, then these states need to make sure we participate on the business side of cannabis.” - @wandaljames
