Considering I have no idea what time it is in Tanzania and for how long she will have internet service, I figured I better get this one up quickly. Thanks Julie, and don't worry I know Chris is your favorite director, but he didn't get a picture with you!
There are no words to accurately depict my gratitude and love for Florida Diabetes Camp. I have been living with diabetes for 17 years now but it’s all been worth it and I have learned how to handle it, because of camp.
When I think of camp, I think of diabetes as a blessing in disguise. A blessing in a way that I have made my best memories growing up and continue to do so at camp, I have made friends who have turned into family, I have found the people who I look up to the most in this world, and I have gained a new perspective on life.
Not only was I fortunate enough to spend 9 incredible years as a camper, but now my role has switched to a counselor and I couldn’t be more honored. Knowing that I am able to give back to and now work along side with the people who changed my life growing up, is the most incredible feeling.
Thank you FCCYD for changing children’s lives, like mine, and continuing to make the world of diabetes a brighter place, I am forever grateful. (Julia Monash) #fccyd #fccydotternation #diabetescamp #summercamp #t1d #volunteer #fiftyyears
